It has been reported that during the past six years, Continental Group conducted a large number of tests aimed at determining whether Russian dandelions can be used as raw materials for the manufacture of rubber for tires. In 2016, the Continental Group announced that it will set up a factory to achieve the industrial mass production of dandelion rubber.
Today, the Continental Group claimed that a breakthrough will soon be made at its Taraxagum Lab Anklam facility, which covers an area of 28328 sq.m. with a first stage construction cost of 35 million euros in Anklam, Baltic coast of Germany.
The Continental Group is building its R & D facilities to reduce the company's import dependence on imported raw materials. To this end, the company will continue to use dandelion, and make it as a local and the region's raw materials. The ultimate goal of the facility is the successful commercialization of "Dandelion" rubber.
